MOTHER’S DAY!

In Italy the mother’s day is celebrated on the second Sunday of the month of May as in the United States, Japan and many European states; a very ancient tradition linked to the cult of female deities and fertility

Mother’s Day was presented in 1870 in the United States as Mother’s day for peace but without success, then Anna Jarvis in 1908 presented her mother’s day in honor of her mother an activist in favor of peace.

Only after the war in the second half of the 50s of the 900s two mother’s days spread, one was promoted by florists of Liguria and the other organized by a priest near Assisi to celebrate motherhood; both in May month full of flowers and dedicated to our Virgin mother.

In the year 2000 it was decided that the day to be dedicated to the mothers would be the second Sunday of May, which this year coincides precisely with its original date; this year we can finally celebrate in presence and if you do not have a gift yet it is not too late for one of our items or a gift card!
