2020 has ended with two great news for the ceramic museum in Montelupo Fiorentino opened in 1983, a precious jewel for all fans and lovers.Thanks to the work if its foundation, the Museum has won the victory of two competition with a very important amount.
Since 1450 Montelupo is the most important city for the ceramic art work. In our showroom in Florence and in our shop online you can find many pieces made in this place not only as the ancient tradition but with new modern ideas.
The city of Montelupo Fiorentino and the Foundation try to support the ceramic production as well the factories with new cooperations.
Smart project for example is an online teaching catalogue to be used in the classroom through video tutorials and work kits that will be delivered to schools, groups and interested associations.
The project, which also saw the collaboration of the teachers of the school, has obtained a funding of 18,000 euros from the Call cultural workshops 2020 of the Foundation of Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze.
The ninth edition of the Italian Council 2020 has also just ended. The Italian Council is a call promoted by the DGCC - General Directorate of Contemporary Creativity of the MIBACT - which supports projects of production, promotion and knowledge of Italian contemporary art in the world. This year it had an extraordinary participation with 204 nominations from every corner of the globe!
The Foundation of the Museum of Montelupo was awarded a grant by presenting a project to be carried out with the artist Marco Bagnoli during 2021.
It is a work dedicated to ceramics that will involve the companies of the area and that will remain later in the city.
